Description: |
Letter is unsigned but is thought it might be from Tschiffely because of the handwriting and content about the capture of Washington. It is a brief letter in which the author says they feel more fear than hope. They talk about six hundred French servicemen taken prisoner and conscripted into the English military and another sixty or so who have deserted, and the apprehension they feel for the future. |
