Interview with Flora Clipper, a ninety-nine year old retired teacher and winner of Jeffersonville’s 2020 Freedom and Justice Award. The interview was conducted by Judy Martin on February 17, 2022, as part of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library’s project on the impact of COVID pandemic and protests on individual lives. Clipper first describes an ordinary day in her life prior to covid, and then how the restrictions impacted her routine. She talks about the Breonna Taylor shooting in Louisville, how she first heard about the case, her reactions, and the protests that followed the shooting. A long-time civil rights activist, Clipper offers several observations concerning racism and racial equality. |
