Interview with Karen Barth

Description: Interview with Reverend Karen Barth, pastor of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Jeffersonville, Ind. The interview was conducted by Eden Kuhlenschmidt on February 4, 2022, as part of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library’s project on the impact of COVID pandemic and protests on individual lives. Rev. Barth discusses how she first learned about COVID, Zoom worship services, her anxiety in the early stages of COVID to attend public conferences, the difficulties of being a pastor during COVID, how COVID affected her personally, the Breonna Taylor protests in Louisville, about her participation in a Sacred Calling gathering organized by the local Buddhist community, and her experience of being the pastor at St. Luke’s UCC.
