Description: |
The Central Block, built in 1888 at 600-604 South Main, housed the Hotel Golden. Later, Hotel Osborne and then Hotel Indiana occupied the space. The Elkhart Institute of Technology used the upper floors as a dormitory from 1961-1970. The space at 600 South Main has featured many restaurants over the years and currently houses Harrison Landing. While the Central Block building has been well preserved, the neighboring building has been chopped down to two stories and houses an auto body shop. |
