Photo 1 in this series was taken between 1922 and 1930. Hotel Elkhart, Hotel Truex and Hotel Read can be seen. Also visible is the new St. Joseph Valley Bank building, last building on the left side of Marion Ave. Since 1974, the bank building has housed the Midwest Museum of Art. Hotel Elkhart is now senior citizen apartment space, while the other two hotels are now parking lots. |
