Little Red Riding Hood pull toy

Description: This pull toy was manufactured by the world-renowned Italian company, Sevi. Established in 1831, it is the oldest European company to produce wooden toys. Founder and visionary Vinzenz Senoner expanded his business from a small woodcarving shop into a world-renowned industrial toy company. In the eighties, Sevi became an internationally known brand name famous for such characters as Pop Circus and for inventive products including the toothbrush holder, the wooden alphabet, and colored wooden trinkets. Today, Sevi continues as a successful company, creating classic toys, furniture and accessories for children as well as for adults. This pull toy represents characters from the classic, “Little Red Riding Hood,” first published by Charles Perrault in Histoires ou Contes du temps passe in 1697. This tale is one of the few folktales that has no known literary version prior to Perraults publication. After it was published, the tale grew in popularity and was adopted by many cultures. The Grimm brothers wrote their version called Little Red Cap in 1812.
