This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Squirrel loose in house, dispatcher gives the number for the Humane Society. 2) Unconscious man at 936 Indiana Ave, Apt 597. 3) Telephone pole on fire at Denny and Brookville. 4) Fire reported at apartment building on the right of the Three Fountains apartments, 42nd and Post Rd. 5) Field fire just north of Vermont between Concord and Goodlet. 6) Sick man at 60 S Rural. 7) Car on fire in the back alley at 28448 E 16th St. 8) Caller reports a fire at 46th and Post Rd, Lawrence Fire Department on the scene. 9) Stove on fire at 2330 N College Ave., Apt 1. 10) Emergency at Fletcher Company, 1300 Brookside Ave. at the docks. Recording ends at 8:06 PM. |
