Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Female caller reporting a man with difficulty breathing 955 N. Sherman, address not recognized, location was the second house from the ally with an American Flag in the front ; Female caller reporting a fire in the back bedroom at the neighboring house at 2925 N. Delaware, Engine 5, Engine 28, Truck 14, District 2 dispatched at 5:31am, report of an injured civilian; Request to call District 1 and pick Mitchell up out of the hospital, Jake answered the call ; Call to Paul Forsee? (commanding officer) at Station 2 to report that police had been to the station because while at the Task Force Run their station was found to be wide open by the police department between 1 and 2 am, so to check to see if anything was wrong or if they had just left it unlocked.; Female caller reporting that the fire at 26th and Guilford was blazing again, the white house next to the one that burnt down; Report at 2608 Guilford two elderly women trapped upstairs; Female caller reporting a trash fire behind a trailer at 4903 W. Washington St. at the Harvey Trailer Park, call was originally reported to Wayne Township Fire Dept. as a trailer fire; Report for a fire at 9 and W. Washington report of cables with something exploding, was given to power and light, lines down at Vine and Washington; Request to fill plastic swimming pools; Ask if Charlie was working, name of caller Denzio? , name of dispatcher answering the call Ben?; Female caller reporting a man hit in the head with a piece of steel at Cody Engineering at the 1549 Blaine St., dispatched Engine 19 for first-aid 7:52am; At the request from Chief Kinnear? to take the Engine 17? out of service on Merrill St between Pennsylvania and Delaware, the Boy Scouts were washing the wall, so they can use it to rinse the walls.; Second floor at the post office at Illinois and South report of an unconscious man;
