Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Bob Cooper is the dispatch; Caller ?Roberts asking who all was at the fire at 26th and Guilford, dispatch responded with Engine 2, Engine 22, Engine 14, Truck 22 and District 1. No squads. Roberts reported that the glass was cleaned up, four policeman were there, in the engine house with shotguns, shimmied up a pole to the second floor.; Caller asking if Doug Walker had left already wanting to thank him and Larry Zerk? For cooperating; Car 10 dispatched to 26th and Guilford at 4:57; Two female callers reporting a woman having difficulty breathing at 955 N. Sherman Dr., requested Station 12’s ambulance, which was at the 27s, code 4 has been lifted; was not located; Caller identified as Holliston? Reporting Melvin Goggan, colored male 26 2925 N. Delaware, cuts on right arm; Female caller reporting that fire on scene of a previous fire at 26th and Guilford, dispatched Engine 14, Engine 22, Truck 22, and District 2 at 6:21; 26th and Guilford box 198 at 6:40; District 2, Squad 14 asked to contact dispatcher, police have reported someone in the house at 26th and Guilford; Power lines down at Vine and Washington St.; Irwin (dispatch) talking to Elliot (caller)asking about a code 4 at 5 that morning; Female calling to request a swimming pool filled up, dispatch suggested that the volunteer fire department might do that; Female caller reporting that at 1549 Blaine St., the Cody Engineering had a man hit with a piece of steel.;
