This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Task Force 12 dispatched to 701 Indiana Avenue at the Blue Eagle Inn. 2:58am; Dispatch to District 3, asking if the shop car could get to them, District 3 replied yes and that they had police officers on site, dispatch made it an emergency run.; Dispatch to the shop, Edwards?, directed to use sirens until they get to Washington St. Go to Indiana and West street for a police escort. Also directed to take jumper cables along with the battery ; King from the 13s dispatch asking if the light wagon was still there, it was.; Car 13 told to call dispatch when they get to Indiana and Michigan by radio.; Female caller reporting the fire at Big 10 and Indiana Ave. as starting again.; Task Force 1 dispatched to the 800 Block of Indiana Avenue at the Big 10 Market at 3:38am.; Task Force 2 requested to contact dispatch, service on station. Task Force 9 to dispatcher.; 13s?, Walsh? Asking who is taking the reports. Walsh? On the B shift.; Bob identified as dispatcher, chief called to have Fire Prevention needs to move the car locked and parked in the 7s driveway before it gets clipped, have Bollinger? Move it.; Fire prevention said one belongs to Fulmer and one to Bollinger. Fulmer says the car doesn’t belong to him, it belongs to Fire Prevention. Kelly at Fire Prevention answered, told to clear the driveway.; Hendricks called in ready to go back, reported that it was out of gear but could be operated off the throttle and battery?; Bickle? From the A shift, told to go home.; Dispatch call to office speaking to Chief Oslos? Looking for Chief Van Sant or Chief Russell, neither were in at the time, later Chief Russell was in.; Attention All Stations Return to Normal Procedures, All Off Duty Men May Return Home, 4:15am; Question about the 1s, Engine 1 and Truck 1 are on a fire, see if they needed gas, told to have anyone needing gas to wait there.; Dispatch identified as Robert, checking in with trucks and engines.; Speculation of the evening and as to whether the trouble has ended for the day and on when it will start again. Banter between dispatch and District 5 officer. Police put their second shift and day shift back on normal. Dispatch will be on from 11 to 7 later that night.
