This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Truck and engine check-ins.; Dispatcher, Bob Cooper, call to each company officer stating that each company officer needs to have an official report ready in the morning on any incident on how they handled the fire, all incidents on the run, how they got in, who helped them to get in, etc. with as complete a summery as they can make so that they can look at it to see if they can make the process better. Arnold at the 8s answered, dispatch also talked with Pete and asked for an official report from the officer.; Calls included: John at ?, Arnold and Pete? at the 8s, to District 6 for Charlie Sims? Who was not there-- Officer in charge of the Engine who is Lane?, the 13s Van Sant answered- Denzio is in the seat on the Engine- Captain Bauers? On vacation- Lieutenant Don Wolf is the ranking officer on duty, 5s Captain Fitzgerald- truck 5 had two runs but were run out on the first run- reports needed from the officer on the Engine and on the truck, 23s Mitchell answered- Fisher? Was in charge, 11s Grayson? Answered- Glendale? In charge, 17s Barrett? Answered- Clark in charge, 7s? Baskerville was in charge, 9s Page? Answered, officer in charge was Horn?; Call to Station 1 and tell them to return to their quarters, and off duty men may return home; Call to Fisher? Cooper was telling him his radio was in the alarm office; Last minute is dead air. |
