Description:	This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt recorded at 12:50 PM: 1. 2617 South Collier, fire reported in Wayne Township and dispatcher forwards call to their station. 2. Several calls from other citizens about the South Collier fire. 3. 1442 North New Jersey, garage fire reported, engine 8 and truck 5 dispatched. 4. Inhalator dispatched to Delaware and Market Street in Pacific Finance Company. 5. Woman calls asking for address of Hempstead Lane, dispatcher tells her it is at 6600 North in Lawrence Township. 6. Woman calls asking for number of fire station 5. 7. Call from Tessford Telephone Company calling to inform the fire department that he will be doing maintenance on fireboxes 748 and 825, and on fire alarm equipment at station 15. 8. At 962 South Delaware car on fire reported, engine 17 dispatched. 9. Employee of Foxwood Casuals, a new business opening at the Lafayette Mall calls to ask if she is required to have fire extinguishers in the shop, dispatcher is unsure what to say because this is outside of the city limits; he gives her a number for further information. 10. Fire reported in old building at 2426 North Ritter. 11. Call asking about bicycle registration. 12. Mailbox on fire from children�s fireworks at 10th and Parker. 13. Kids turned on fire hydrant on Leslie between 30th and 31st, Water Company called with information by dispatcher. 14. 2319 Hillside fire reported. Dictabelt
