Dispatch call, July 6, 1968, 6:11 PM

Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) 3111 South Keystone, field in the back of home is on fire. 2) 13th and Stan Ave, car was on fire but man put it out. 3) Man calling for location of 8627 Skyway Drive in Lawrence Township. 4) Police officer needing police headquarters, dispatch asks if hed like to try it again. 5) Another police officer mistakenly calling fire. 6) 1200 block of Roache and White in a vacant lot. 7) 4910 East 30th, boy with a cut wrist, ambulance on its way and Engine 24 dispatched. 8) 16th and Arsenal, car fire. Engine 2 dispatched. 9) 1533 Lynden, woman cant get her breath. 10) Ambulance on its way. Squad 7 is dispatched. 11) 1610 and one half Southeast, possible dead man upstairs. Squad 17 dispatched, ambulance and police on their way. 12) 7:19 timestamp. Dispatch calls ambulance and says Squad 17 says to disregard 1610 and one half Southeast. 13) Engine 18 sent to corner of Holmes and Washington. 25th and Broadway, car burning in alley. School 27 alarm was pulled as a prank. Asking that dispatch send someone to turn it off.
