Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Man calling up to say his neighbor is giving him a hard time and he may end up in a lawsuit and asking if dispatch can do anything. Dispatch says all they can do is provide the recording of the woman calling in about the fire and thats about it. 2) North Keystone, baby having trouble breathing. 3) 2423 North New Jersey, fire at a telephone pole. Engine 22 dispatched. 4:10 timestamp. 4) Woman calling for directions to 4201 North West. 5) 34th and Emerson, fire. Engine 24, Truck 4 dispatched. 6) 305 North Wallcot, unconscious woman due to a beating. Ambulance and police are on the way. 7) 7050 East 38th, car on fire at Party Time Showcase. Engine 20 dispatched. 5:01 timestamp. 8) 521 Dorman, fire in the vacant lot out back. 9) 1305 Stan(ley?) Avenue, car fire is out. 10) Kids prank calling. Dispatch says, Youre gonna need help when I get ahold of you. Im going to blister your pants. 11) 1200 block of Roach, grass fire. 6:11 timestamp. 12) Kid calling to ask if you need to get your bicycle registered if youre out of the city limits.
