Dispatch call, July 6, 1968, 7:00 AM

Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Sheldon and Arsenal, car on fire. 2) 1633 Lyndon, woman calling for fire station on Michigan, asking about bicycle registration. Dispatch says tomorrow between 1-7PM. 3) Injured civillian at station 17, squad car on its way. 4) 3102 Eagledale Drive, truck 30. 7:19. 5) 14th and College, woman is sick. Man will wait at the phone box to show them where she is. Squad 7 is sent. 6) Prank caller in a Chiefs buggy, dispatch scolds them. 7) Dispatch chatting with firefighter - arson job on Union in an empty house. 8) 25th and Broadway, a car burning in an alley west of Broadway and south of 25th. Engine 22 sent. 9) West drive of 10th and Woodruff, PI accident. Maurien Court, 97500 East and 3900 north. 10) 10th and New Jersey, 2600 block, old garage on fire, someone lives in it. 11) 2610 Central, still fire alarm. 12) Chief Philip speaking with Charlie, Charlie asking if the Chiefs buggy was in sight all the time because kids may have been playing on it. 13) Providence, Road Island calling again to check in on womans brother at 2702 West Washington, dispatch says to call back in 20 minutes. 634-1313 is dispatch number, Road Island will call back. 14) Policeman trying to use box calls fire instead. Dispatch says to press button before lifting the receiver. 15) Bollinger Car 3, asks dispatch to keep it quiet tonight as hes ready for a good nights sleep. 16) 1800 block West Michigan, as you come across the White River bridge, man lying in street. 17) 26th and 1/2 North Keystone, need air.
