Letter from James H. Meteer to Caleb Mills, February 10, 1864

Description: Meteer lets Mills know he has received the money he asked for. He describes the landscape including Missionary Ridge and Lookout Mountain. He notes how things have changed and negroes have been given arms to fight against the white man for his freedom. The black troops are a curiosity there and he believes blacks as soldiers will help drive away prejudice against them.
