Olive and Mary Jane Griffin behind counter at Griffin's store

Description: Sisters Olive Griffin and Mary Jane ("Jennie") Griffin behind the counter at the family's dry goods store in Corydon, Indiana. The sisters worked at the store founded by their father, Patrick Griffin, throughout most of their adult lives. Olive (1876-1958) was the fourth child, and Mary Jane (1874-1961) was the third child of Patrick and Helen Porter Griffin. Neither of the sisters ever married, and both resided in their childhood home, the Porter-Griffin house, until their deaths. The Griffin store remained in business on the square in Corydon until 1983.
