Chenet, Antoine Zepherin appointed constable 1810

Description: The file contains one document, the documentation that Antoine Zepherine Chenet took the oath of office as a constable. Before Gen. W. Johnston, Chenet took the oath to support the Constitution of the U.S. and the oath of office as a Constable agreeably to an Act of Assenbly providing for the appointment of constable. Signed Gen. W. Johnston. According to the Minute Book of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas, 1807-1810 page 269, Antoine Zepherine petitioned the court praying the benefit of insolvent law on a motion by his attorney. The petition was discharged.
