A petition for a public highway is filed. A road is to be built from Front St. of Vincennes, the land of Governor Harrison, to the N. E. line there of hence with the line N. Westerly to the bank of the Wabash. This is the most direct course over the least ground near as can be to the river to Mill Creek to near the place where the old road below Snapp Mill crosses it. Then along or nearby along the said old road until it strikes the county road leading to Busseron. The petition that would open a new road beginning at Mill Creek at the fording of Col. Smalls Plantation then in a direct course and over the least ground south westerly of Vincennes at nearby the S. E. side of the town. The petition would also vacate the present road occupied by William La Palme through the Upper Prairie to Mill Creek and from there until it strikes the road leading to Busseron near the plantation of late Thomas Baird now of John Rice Jones.
