Jones, Thomas vs. Luke Decker (Abrahams son) 1807

Description: The file contains the documents related to Thomas Joness suit against Luke Decker for debt of an unpaid promissory note. The promissory note was written by Luke Decker on March 16, 180 to Thomas Jones. It was for twenty nine livres and ten sues (sol) (approximately $19.04 1/4) and bearing interest from the date written. It was witnessed by S. McConnel and Anthony Wederman by his mark. A complaint was filed in the Knox County Court of Common Plea November 1807, by the Plaintiffs attorney, General W. Johnston, P.Q. regarding the failure to pay the debt. Robert Buntin, Clerk, issued a summons for Luke Decker (Abrahams son) to appear in court during the November Term. The summons was executed by J. Crow, Deputy Sheriff, bail was required and costs of $1.18 1/2. Luke Decker and Isaac White posted $50 bond for Luke Deckers recognizance. Luke Decker was represented by Jonathan Jennings. The judgment was for the Plaintiff of $19.02
