Scott, Senior Andrew vs. Abraham Decker and Daniel Sullivan

Description:	The file contains four documents related to the suit Andrew Scott, Senior brought against Abraham Decker and Daniel Sullivan for failure to pay off a promissory note for seventy-five dollars and asked damages of fifty dollars. In the Complaint filed during the November Term 1813 in the Court of Common Pleas, it was stated that Abraham Decker and Daniel Sullivan, in custody, Scott filed a plea that they render unto him the sum of seventy-five dollars and unjustly detained. On the twentieth day June 1813 they made a bill of obligatory. Three months after the date of the said Bill obligatory they would paid Scott seventy-five dollars and he asked for damages of fifty dollars. On the verso side of the complaint, de bene esse for future use. A second document was a Summons for Abraham Decker and Daniel Sullivan to appear before the judges of the court of Common Pleas at Vincennes on the third Monday of November Inst. He was to answer to Andrew Scott on a Plea that they render to him the sum of seventy-five dollars. This document was witnessed and signed by Robert Buntin, Clerk on November 2nd 1813. Also noted This suit is brought on a note under seal for seventy-five dollars therefore bail is required for that sum. W. Prince, P.Q. Serving and taking into custody on two and bail Bond and returning $1.5; mileage $ .42; Total $2.01. Executed and Nicholas and Elias Bedal appearance Bail B. Beckes, KC The third document was the appearance bond, Abraham Decker, Daniel Sullivan, Nicholas Decker and Elias Bedal posed the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars on November 10, 1813. Abraham Decker, D. Sullivan, Nicholas Decker(his mark) , E. Bedall and Moses Decker signed. The last document was the court cost bill for the November Term 1813 and totaled $11.00 1/2. According to the Minute Book of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas, 1811-1817, on page 122, William Prince appeared for the Plaintiff and dismissed the cause and Judgment for cost. Judge Sullivan was present.
