The file contains the documentation of Henry Wheelers attempt to collect a judgement (Scire facisas) against Jacob Geff for a debt owed to the Littleton Timms Estate. Included are two summons for Jacob Geff. A summons was issued for Jacob Geff by W.R. McCord, Clerk, to appear at the May Term 1847 to answer to why an Execution should not be enforced. John Harrison, the administrator of Littleton Timms Estate won a judgement against Jacob Geff for $70.18 and damages of $3.67. John Harrison died and did not collect the awarded monies. Henry Wheeler was then appointed the administrator of the Littleton Timms Estate and filed suit to collect the debt and damages. The summons was issued to bring Geff to court to answer to Wheelers suit on behalf of the Timms Estate. Isaac Mass, Sheriff could not find Jacob Geff to execut the summons. A cost of $1.18 was added to the summons. A second summons was issued for Jacob Geff by W.R. McCord, Clerk to appear at the August Term 1847. The Sheriff, Isaac Mass, was unable to find Geff. A cost of $1.24 was added to the summons. |
