Eli Slusher vs Henry Holbert, admin. of Jacob Slusher deceased 1841

Description: The file contains the documents related to the bill of Trespass Eli Slusher filed against the Estate of Jacob Slusher. Included is the bill of complaint for $500 damages filed in the November Term 1841, three summons, four receipts for payments and two sheets listing the credits of Eli Slusher with the Jacob Slushers estate. Eli Slusher filled a bill of Trespass against the administrator of Jacob Slushers estate, Henry Holbert during the November Term 1841. It stated in January 2, 1837, Jacob Slusher was endebted to Eli Slusher for work, care and diligence in and about business for Jacob Slusher for $200. He asked for damages of $500. W.R. McCord, Clerk, issued summons for Henry Hobart to appear in Probate Court two times during the February Term. Abraham Smith, Sheriff, executed both summons. One summons with fees of $1.60 attached and one with $.60 fees. Summons were also issued for Obadiah Wetzel, Andrew Miller, John Davis, and Owen Dollahan to appear as witnesses for Eli Slusher. Abraham Smith, Sheriff executed the summons with fees of $5.20 attached. On January 21, 1832, Eli Slusher received a receipt from A. Willson for $1.50 on Jacob Slushers account that Rubin Patman held against him. On February 15, 1833, Eli Slusher received a receipt from Case Wadley for $2.37 1/2 in full of Jacob Slushers account. On March 3, 1832, Eli Slusher received a receipt from Robert Milford for $17.92 for two judgements against Jacob Slusher in favor of Samuel Howard. W.R. McCord, Clerk of the Knox County Probate Court, paid John Davis and Owen Dollahan their fees of $.50 for the Eli Slusher vs Henry Hobart, administrator of the Jacob Slusher Estate. Two documents listed the following account entries: Estate of Jacob Slusher in account Eli Slusher: Cash lent $10.62 1/2; Pammel $1.50; Hauling $1.00; 1/2 Bushel Beans $.37 1/2; Bacon $2.50; Going to Tippecanoe to collect Money $20.00; Five days work @ $.75 day $3.75; Five Days work horses $1.25; Work with Horses $3.00; Four days work with Horses $5.00; 2 days Work with Horses $1.50; Amount of Judgement $17.92; Account $2.37 1/2; Amount Paid Reuben Patman on account of E Slusher $1.50 ; Total $57.34 1/2 + $5.00 = $62.34 1/2 . Amount Purchased at Sale $2.43 3/4; Deer Skins $2.00 Total $66.78 1/4
