John Myer, guardian of, Benjamin Myer, Jerome Myer, and George Myer, application to sell estate property

Description: The file contains documents regarding John Myer, guardian of Benjamin, Jerome and George Myer, application to sell Lot #261 in Vincennes. The property is part of a living estate of John Myer and his wife Julia. Through his attorney, Abner T. Ellis, John Myer petitioned Judge George W. Ewing to sell Lot #261 as designated by Johnson and Emison Survey. The lot, was Twenty-five square toise (French measurement, one Toise equals six feet) and located on Busseron and Sixth Streets. They conveyed the lot to Robert Carnan. They requested an order for an appraisal. A bond document and assurance that the monies for the sale of Lot # 216 would be used for Benjamin, Jerome, and George Myer, was signed by John Myer, H. Ruble, and John Collins on November 13, 1834. During the November Term 1834, it was ordered that David Bonner, John Marney and Robert Smith be appointed to appraise the value of the lot. Lot # 261 was appraised at a value of seventy-five dollars. Elihu Stout appeared before Jonathan Collins to attest that the advertisement for the public sale of Lot # 261 was advertised in the Western Sun for four weeks. The advertisement was included with the testament.
