Samuel Kinkade on the November 9, 1838 states that William Mieure did borrow money from George Knox in the sum of $75. This was sworn before B. M. Thomas. A. McClure states he saw William Mieure take $15 in the spring of 1838 as a loan from George Knox at the grocery store now occupied by Jeremiah Donovan. This document was filed December 30, 1839 before Samuel Hill, Justice of the Peace. A subpoena was issued for A. B. McClure on behalf of George Knox on October 4, 1841. A subpoena was issued for Samuel Kinkade to give evidence on behalf of George Knox on October 5, 1841. A subpoena was issued for Jeremiah Donovan and Samuel Kinkade on behalf of George Knox on February 7, 1842. Docket entries by George Gibson, attorney for plaintiff and by Thomas for defendant. The cases are against Sarah Mieure, administrator of William Mieure. One case lists Mieure vs William McCormick with damages listed at $100, and the other is Mieure vs George Knox with $150 damage. |
