Jane Simpson, the widow of John F. Snapp vs Abraham, Eliza Ann and John F. Snapp, the heirs of John F. Snapp, deceased

Description: A notice of partition to set off dower rights of 215 acres and a 20 hundredths of an acre N. W. part of donation lot 26, Town 3, North Range 9 W. Also 68 acres of land survey 21 and also 158 acres of land surveys # 20 and 5 acres common lot Township 3 N. Range 10 W. R. Y. Caddington swears before Jonathan Collins Justice of the Peace that the notice was published in the Vincennes Gazette November 14, 1842 and also for 5 weeks. Jane Simpson asks court to appoint Commissioners on November 15, 1842 so that she may secure her dower rights. She states land has been published in the newspaper. James Johnson, Archibald Bell McKee and John Alescander are appointed Commissioners on November 15, 1842. On November 19, 1842 they take an oath before William McCord. The Commissioners on November 19, 1842 come to court and state that they have agreed to give Jane Simpson the N. W. part of donation lot 26 T. 3 N. R. 9 W. consisting of 215 acres and 20 hundredths of an acre.
