William Hays vs John Law et al

Description: A statement by Pierre La Plante stating that on July 26, 1838 that he personally paid George Ewing $80 on the estate of Lewis Delorie, deceased. Pierre La Plante signed the statement on August 18, 1843 before Samuel Hill, Justice of the Peace. On August 19, 1843 Pierre Brouillette came before Samuel Hill, Justice of the Peace and states that in July 1838 Pierre La Plante requested $50 from him to pay the late George W. Ewing for land he purchased of the administrator of Delorie and he believes the money was paid to La Plante by G. W. Ewing who was the attorney. An account owed to the estate of G. W. Ewing by W. Hayes dated Vincennes, August 1843 for money paid to Pierre La Plante for use of guardian of Hannah Racine $47.35 with interest from February 8, 1840 to $9.87 for a total $57.22.
