Jane Crock vs David, Frances, James Crock, George Canada, William Conaway and Andrew Purcell

Description:	On May 1, 1847 Isaac Thorn, Probate Judge hears complaint by Jane Crock, widow of David Crock who died 1846. David Crock had in his possession the following property: Survey 3 Town 1 N. R. 10 W. survey 4 Town 1 N. R 20 W. E. part of S. half of S. W. fractional Section 20 Town 1 N. R. 10 W. and 100 acres lying west of White River having been conveyed by John Anthis to David Crock on September 24, 1843. The land purchase was recorded in Book A page 191. Jane Crock is suing for her dower rights. The heirs of David are David, Frances, and James, all under the age of 21 and also William Conaway, who purchased Survey No. 4 Town 1 N. R. 10 W. and George Canada who purchased the east part of South half of S. W. fraction Section 20 Town 1 N. Range 10 W. and Andrew Purcell because of the fraction of Survey No. 3 T. R. R. 10 W. The document is signed by Jane Crocks attorney C. M. Allen. William R. McCord is assigned as guardian of David, James and Frances Crock. He replies they know nothing of the suit. A subpoena for David, Frances and Jane Crock, George Canada, William Conaway and Andrew Purcell to come to court on the 2 second Monday of May 1847 to answer to a bill of complaint by Jane Crock is filed. A response from Attorney Allen on the complaint is filed. The complaint states that Jane Crock widow and heirs be allowed 1/3rd equal value of the land and that George Calhound, James Dick and James Westfall be appointed as Commissioners to divide up the property by the court.
