Sullivan High School 1958 minstrel show, Sullivan, Indiana

Description: This photograph shows a newspaper clipping regarding Sullivan High Schools 10th Anniversary minstrel show in Sullivan, Indiana. The clipping reads, The tenth anniversary presentation of the Sullivan High School Minstrel Show premiered last night is again tops in the entertainment field. Even though high school students, Harry Jarrett and Wilfred Perigo, co-directors, turn out professional-like productions each year with the students. Difficult again is the selection of any one feature as outstanding. The whole production is outstanding. This year marks the first time that the show is playing three nights. The show is a sell-out each year and only chance for seats at any presentation. There may be a few seats available for the Saturday night show. The anniversary show is the return of old and best selections from the preceding shows. Each is a hit in its own right. Besides the individual stars of the show, there were the chorus dancing groups, end men, freshmen doing their part, the orchestra and many committees, working on various phases of the show. Remember, if you like past favorites like Ill Get By, Harbor Lights, Blue Hawaii, Tiger Rag, People Will Say Were in Love and many, many more, then youll think this Anniversary Minstrel is the best ever. Larry Russell does an unusually good job as the interlocutor. This show is fine, wonderful, stupendous and brilliant. Remember, it starts at 7:30.
