Ray North oral history interview

Description: This is an oral history interview with Ray North conducted by Jean Ann Craycraft on Nov. 10, 2017 at the Parke County Public Library (at that time named the Rockville Public Library). This recording shares the role Ray North played in the beginning organization of the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. He tells of his experience as being part of the Festival Committee when Billy Hargrave told him he was a member. He explains how the Festival began and how it has changed over the years. He worked for Rueben Dooley at the REMC as public relations director. After many years, he then became a member of Parke County Incorporated and served as secretary for 3 years and president for 7 years. Joe Sturm and Vicki Newlin helped through a rough year when leadership was lacking.
