Description: Folder 2035 in Box 34 of Knox County Circuit Court 1818 records at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House holds one document in the case of State of In. vs. Amos Hanaway. This case is about Hanaway’s assault on John McBain. The document shows by order of Frederick Graeter that a constable was to serve the warrant to Hanaway and also a habeas Corpus for a negro girl “Grace”. There is nothing in the document explaining why Grace was brought to court.
