A folder containing probate records for Mary Snapp is housed in the Probate Records section, Box 43, at the Knox County (IN) Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. A press-printed bond dated June 6, 1846 names James M. Sproatt as administrator. This file holds an estate inventory along with an accompanying bill of sale, administrator‘s accounts, summonses, promissory notes as well as numerous bills, receipts and claims against the estate. Published in the Vincennes Gazette, March 27, 1851 is a notice of a commissioner’s sale or real estate (40 acres in Survey 37.) Also included is a list of jurors for the March 1852 term of probate court. |
