A folder containing probate records for John Morris is housed in the Probate Records section, Box 43, at the Knox County (IN) Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. A press-printed bond dated November 18, 1846 names Jonathan Cox as administrator and in a hand-written renunciation of the same date the widow Jane Morris cedes administration to cox. The file also contains inventories of items chosen by the widow for her dower, administrator’s accounts, an affidavit, a receipt and an administrator’s notice published in the Vincennes Gazette supposing the estate to be insolvent, dated November 19, 1846. |
