M., Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1915, a massmeeting was held in Chapel Hall in the interest of the Athletic Association, which forsize and enthusiasm, surpassed any in the memory of present Normalites. More of the fairsex were present, due perhaps to the announcements that the ladies of the faculty were tospeak.At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Sandi-son made a short talk and presented to Stifflerour mighty center, a picture, entitled At HisGrandmothers Funeral.Then Acting President French introducedMiss Rose Cox, who made a most enthusiastictalk. She was followed by Miss Schweitzerand she by Miss Moran, who perhaps reachedthe climax of the meeting, when she waved onhigh a bright, green dollar bill in payment ofher fee to the association. Cards were then distributed to those who wished to become members of the association. Prof. Gillum then madea talk, comparing our association with the associations of other schools, and struck a responsive chord when he proposed that we have abanquet as is done by other schools.Even though we cannot have the banquetlet us have more of these enthusiastic meetings,and we will soon make people realize that thereis something doing in old I. N.Utterarp <0rgam?attongCICERONIANS.AFTER the joys of Christmas vacation, allthe Ciceronians returned for the winterterm with the old spirit and determination.While it is true that ten days of rest proved alittle disastrous to the habits formed duringthe term, yet these will soon return, and thework will be brought up to Ciceronian standard.The inter-society team has been chosen, andthese men, together with the other members, aregiving all possible time to the inter-society andinter-state question. While there are only afew more weeks to work, it is certain that theyare going to make a great effort to recover thehonors lost to the opponents last year.The society still needs one or two men to completely fill the number, some men are underconsideration, and it is to be hoped that theseplaces will soon be filled. The work movesmore smoothly and is more enjoyable whenthe full number are present.ECLECTIC.The Eclectic Literary Society entertainedWednesday afternoon, Dec. 10, in the association rooms. Music and games were the diversion of the afternoon. Prizes were won by theMisses Wilson, Hamilton and Edwards. Lightrefreshments were served after the games themembers then took their guests to the Oratorical benefit show at the Orpheum. The guestswere the Misses R. Wilson, M. Davis, Edwards,Brookins, Kasameyer, Swartz, Taggart, Gilchrist, Crawford, White, F. Seever, Hamilton,Tarmohlen, Thomas, M. Brown, Perkins andMapes.The Eclectics have elected the following offi- |
