Thedrama is certain to prove very popular, andwithout doubt packed houses will greet theplayers at every performance.Showing considerable improvement comparedwith the style of basketball displayed in thegame with Wabash College Tuesday night theIndiana State Normal five defeated Earlhamat the Normal gymnasium last night, 27 to 21.The game was fast at all times and prettypassing and goal shooting was executed by bothteams, especially by the Normal men, duringthe last half. At only one time during thegame was the Earlham team in the lead, andthat was directly after the first whistle, whenWilson landed a pretty one through the netting from about the middle of the floor. Endurance, passing and good headwork soonplaced the winners ahead.Wilson made a basket after about twominutes of play and this was followed soonafter by a foul goal. Normal began scoringwhen Schenck registered a goal from a difficult angle and this was followed soon bya goal by Stiffler. A foul marker by Knauthplaced Normal in the lead and at the end ofthe first period the score stood 16 to 12, withNormal on the long end. Schenck and Stifflerwere the big point getters in this half, whileKnauth came in for four foul goals. For Earlham Winslow made three field goals and Loganregistered one. Three foul marker by Morrishcompleted the scoring for the half.The second half began with both teamsshowing a considerable amount of speed andclose guarding. Earlham was the first to tally,which cut down the Normal lead to two points,but this wTas soon increased, however, whenStiffler and Knauth in quick succession droppedin a couple of pretty ones. Near the end of thehalf Royer of the Normal team was put out ofthe game on account of four personal fouls,which caused a shift in the lineup. Knauthwent to guard and Shriner took the vacantplace at. forward. The combination worked aswell as the old, however, and all attempts ofthe Earlham forwards were smothered. Earlham, 21.For the Earlham aggregation Winslow andLogan were the stars, especially the latter, whoplayed the floor in wonderful style. Schenck,Knauth and Stiffler played the best for theNormal.
