In a pleasingmanner, which held the undivided attention ofthose present, she gave the story of the dramaand Avhat critics have said about it. Her talkshoAved careful preparation.CICERONIANS.As usual, the Ciceronians have been goingsome during the past month. Sore arms havenot hindered them from living up to theideals of the society. Aside from the regularAvork, three new men have been added. Theactive members at present are Messrs. Carnahan, Ellis, Elder, Haney, McCullough, Pruitt,Paul, Shaw, Smith, Shanks, Thompson andWilson
the special members are Messrs.Buckles, Brumbaugh, Koch, Meyer and Weathers. Mr. Paul will Avithdraw from school May2, and his place as an active member will probably go to Mr. Weathers. Other changes inmembership will occur at the end of the springterm.Probably the most helpful meeting of themonth Avas that of April 17, wThen Mr. Baxterwas present and acted as critic. He said thatone of the high schools of Indiana, which heconsidered one of the best of the middle Avest,if it were not the best, was to be manned thecoming yearby four men, three of Avhom havebeen Ciceronians. This speaks well for theCiceronian Society and the men Avho go from it.The society is looking forward to The GreatTime at the Terre Haute House, June 7. Preparations are already well under way.ALETHENAI.Since the opening of the spring term, theAlethenai have Avelcomed Misses Hazel Hookerand Elizabeth Standiford into the society. Atthe regular weekly meetings, a number of themodern operas have been revieAved, several interesting debates held, and topics of more thanpassing interest discussed. Principal amongthese was the equal suffrage question, AvhichAvas forever settled, when the debaters provedthat women should not be granted the franchise.
