Description: THE XORMAL ADVAXCE163thousand and one other stunts, principallythe meetings of the Equal Suffrage League, theSeniors have been crowded off the map.At the beginning of the winter term theSenior class met and elected the following officers:President—Mr. Baldwin. «Arice-President—Miss Scott.Secretary—Miss Williams.Treasurer—Mr. Reece. Two meetings of the Senior class have beenheld since then, but because of other attractions(or detractions) the meetings were not well attended. Mr. Reece reported, however, that theSeniors are pay7ing their dues remarkably wellfor Seniors and the Seniors hope to have atleast one good time some time in the futurewhen we can find a meeting night that wontinterfere with that august body mentionedabove. The graduating class has also organized forthe year. Mr. Smith and Mr. Carnahan, of theSenior class, were chosen president and treasurer. In a few weeks the graduating classwill hold regular meetings to allow the variousfactions to debate the cap and gown questionwhich is already being
agitated.JUNIOR.AVhat can be said about the Juniors? Certainly7 little can be said unfavorable to thisclass. Can anything be said favorable? Anattempt to give an adequate expression ofJunior greatness would undoubtedly result ininjustice.Xo other class has had a satisfactory meetthis term. The Juniors have not had a singlemeeting which any member of the class or eventhe observing members of other classes canpossibly criticise—has any other class such arecord? Candidly, y7ou are invited to readthe reports of the work of the several classesand made your own judgement, upon whichy7ou can rely and by which you can convinceothers. The Juniors hope that Messrs. Clark andStiffler, the Junior representatives on the varsity basket ball team, can feel the support thatevery Junior willingly7 offers, sufficiently towin the three remaining games. Added to oursincere respects to the team, as a team, we givedue mention to Clark, captain of the team, andStiffler, the able center. Both men are entirely7commendable.The Juniors are looking forward to nextterm when a very fine crowd of people will enroll as Juniors. This may make the class atpresent less noticeable, but the class will welcome them loyally. If something happensnext term you can credit it to the Juniors withlittle reflection and rest assured that there iswdiere it belongs Of course everybody is expecting great things around Xormal next termand shall they be surprised? Let us modestlywait for facts. The Juniors intend helping the first Annual go. AVe expect to solicit and also to berepresented well in it. If any other class ororganization can do better they7 are at libertyto trv. AA^ill they?SOPHOMORE.The Sophs have been so interrupted by basketball games and other enterprises during thewinter term that class meetings have been veryscarce. Xext term is looked upon with newhopes and higher aspirations.Since losing one of their classmates most ofthe Sophs have been in a very melancholystate of mind. By the opening of the springterm, however, every one will cheer up and behimself once more.Athletic Captain Clark, of whom so muchglory7 is worthy, says he is expecting the Sophsto furnish most of his baseball material for thenew team. Thus, you see he is expecting tohave a team that will win the laurels forI. S. N.
