THE NORMAL ADVANCE.163at her home on Liberty avenue, Saturday, May9th. Each guest was given a card upon which towrite the most amusing experience she had had.The book, Lovcy Mary, was given to Miss Forrest Cunningham, whose experience was voted tobe the most amusing. Light refreshments wereserved at the close of the afternoon.MYOSOTIS.Mrs. Sandison and Mrs. Kemp entertained theMyosotis section very delightfully on Saturdayafternoon, May 9th. The members were entertained with a number of pictures of Florence andits architecture. With this and conversation, theafternoon passed very quickly and pleasantly. Refreshments consisting of ice cream, strawberries,and cake were served.As a welcome to the returning members, MissesShank, Carter, Baker, and Rust, the Myosotis section was informally entertained Saturday afternoon, April 18th, at the home of the leader, MissSipp. By means of a guessing contest, the section took a trip and stopped at a number of thelarge cities between Boston and Terre Haute. Atwo course luncheon was served. The first courseconsisted of a literary salad the second of fruit,nuts, and candies. The dainty paper boxes inwhich the candies were served, were kept assouvenirs.ZETA.The Zeta section was very pleasantly entertainedby Mrs. Charles R, Dryer, patroness, Saturdayafternoon, May 9th, Each guest was given aquotation to be illustrated in as realistic a wray aspossible. The contest in guessing what the illustration represented furnished great amusement toall. Refreshments were served. The latter part ofthe afternoon was passed pleasantly with music.ALPHA.Misses Layman and Keating entertained theAlphas at euchre, Saturday afternoon, April 18th,at the home of Miss Keating, East Chestnut street.Two pretty prizes were awarded Miss Berry andMiss Hill for the highest scores and a beautifulbouquet of roses and carnations was won by MissWeems in the free-for-all contest, At the closeof the game a two-course luncheon was served.The invitation list included Mrs. L. J. Rettger,Mrs. Charles M. Curry, Misses Cox, Whitenack,Hill, Anderson and the members of the chapter.FRESHMEN CLASS.The Freshman class met Friday evening, April17th. The attendance of loyal Freshmen was thelargest of the year. An excellent program consisting of music and recitations was rendered.The next meeting was held on Friday evening,May 1st, and although the attendance w^as not solarge as before, the program was thoroughly enjoyed by those present.At this meeting the captain and manager of theFreshmen base ball team were elected.SENIORS.The Seniors are now busy with the preparationof their class play. They enjoy many happy-hours in their rehearsals, working cheerfully andharmoniously together.The class has shown great unity and loyalty allyear and this spring this spirit which has beenmanifested by the class has been more marked thanever. The meetings are well attended, and the enthusiasm shows the attitude of the class. |
