Friendly greetings wereeither placed in the rooms or mailed to all thegirls in school.The reception given October 2, in the Association Rooms by the Y. M. C. A. and Y. W.C. A. was very successful. Those presentnumbered about four hundred. The studentswere delighted to meet so many of the Facultyin a social way.Miss. Margery Melcher, the State Secretary,visited the Association from October 3 toOctober 7. A reception for the girls wasgiven in her honor Saturday afternoon, October 3, at the Association House. About twohundred girls were present.Miss Melcher talked to the girls Sundayafternoon on Individual Responsibility Froma Four-Fold Basis, which is the principle ofthe Association. She also conducted the meeting Tuesday evening, October 6, for the BibleStudy Rally.The Association has arranged for Bible andMission Study classes at the following placesand times: Bible Study—PresbyterianChurch, Sunday, 9:30 a. m., class by MissEdith Bader

All girls in school areinvited and urged to attend these meetings sothat they may know of the work and becomeinterested in some of its many phases.SOCIETYALPHA.At the beginning of the summer term therewere ten active members of the Alpha Sectionin school. On July 9, Marian Sammis entertained with an informal porch party. Refreshments were served at the Rose Pharmacy.The afternoon of July 17 was pleasantlyspent at the home of Myrtle Landerholm.Music and a unique guessing contest were thefeatures of the entertainment. The prize, acut glass tumbler, was won by Marian Sammis.Halcie Fair, Blanche Elliott, Cora Maloney,Florence Hoffman, Ruby McGraw, Lola Rech-eldeffer, and Frances King were guests of theSection.Three new members, Blanche Elliott, CoraMaloney, and Halcie Fair, were taken into theSection during the summer term.
