N. and a memberof the class of 1903, at I. U.While at Bloomington Mr. Petty was leader ofthe I. U. Glee club.He is now teaching in the I. S. N.The following is from the Plymouth Tribune:At the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Klein-schmidth in this city at 8:30 p. m., Sunday, April5, Mr. Elmer E. Petty and Miss Honore Parkswere united in marriage by Rev. 0. S. Thornberry,pastor of the Presbyterian church of this city.The wedding was a very pretty one and an elegant supper was served. Only relatives, intimatefriends and the brides class were present, thirty-four persons in all. The wedding march wasplayed by Mrs. James McDonald.The bride is the daughter of William Parks, ofLogansport, but for the past six years has made herhome in this city with her cousin, Mrs. Klein-schmidth. She is a graduate of the Plymouthschools, and has the respect and esteem of everybody in Plymouth.Mr. Petty is the teacher of history in the StateNormal school at Terre Haute and is worthy of thebride he was won.The happy couple left for Terre Haute on theearly morning train, bearing with them the goodwishes of hundreds of friends.Those who were here from out of town to attendthe wedding were the father of the bride and MissClara Moore, of Logansport Miss McGraw, ofRochester Miss Daisy Petty, of Wabash, who is asister of the groom, and Mr. Walter Hilton, of theSteger piano factory, a cousin of the bride.here this year. The class has not made any enviable records in the social world or in athleticsnor has it sought to do so. Nevertheless the Juniorclass has been doing something.The class is made up of strong, energetic students and many are planning to return next year,and even at present the class is organizing itselffor the Senior year.The officers elected for the spring term were:President—H. F. Meier.Vice President—Earl Kelly.Secretary—Ella Moore.Treasurer—V. C. Miller.Athletic Captain—Will Stuckey.The class will issue the next number of TheAdvance and the committee is at work getting thematerial ready. It will be strictly Junior throughout and will contain a large number of cuts andcartoons. The editing committee is composed ofJoe H. Stahl, chairman, Homer Long, DorothyVenard, Ella Moore and E. H. Fishback.Our class meetings are full of interest and noJunior should fail to be present. Come to themeetings on the first and third Friday evenings ofthe month, and on these evenings especially bevery much a Junior.JUNIOR CLASS.There probably never was a more studious andreserved Junior class in the Normal than has beenSENIORS.Friday evening, April 10th, the Senior classheld their first meeting of the spring term.The meeting was given over to business and theelection of officers:The following officers were elected:Presisdent E. E. BrooksVice President Guy C. SippleSecretary Alma BesteSergeant at Arms D. W. WerremeyerThe retiring president, Mr. F. W. Miles, made afew remarks congratulating the class on the spiritof unity and kindness which they exhibitedthroughout the term.The new president expressed his appreciation forthe honor conferred upon him and hoped that thespirit of unity and loyalty which exists among theclass will continue. |
