The date has not yet been determined.The Thirty-Third Annual Convention of the Y.M. C. A. of Indiana was held in Peru, November20-23, under the auspices of the Railroad Sectionof the Y. M. C. A. in that city. The delegateswere royally entertained by the people of Peru.The prominent speakers and their subjectswere: Rev. Alexander Patterson of Chicago, hadcharge of several of the Bible Hours George D.McDill of Omaha, Railroad Secretary International Committee, gave an excellent address on TheAssociation Committee System Dr. John M.Phipps, now of Indianapolis, the first secretary,sent by the International Committee on the U. S.transports to the Philippine Islands, later transferred to China, gave Breezes from the FarEast S. D. Gordon of Cleveland, in Quiet Talkson Power and A. B. Williams, Jr., College Secretary International Committee, in CollegeChristianity.There were about five hundred delegates fromthe different associations throughout the state. Ofthe colleges represented Valparaiso had the largestdelegation with I. U. a close second. Our association was represented by Melvin Snyder, WallaceStopher, 0. C. Rogers and J. B. Hessong, all ofwhom received great spiritual benefit from theconvention.The work of our association is very encouragingwhen compared with the work of other associations. Proportionately our membership was thelargest of any of the College Associations throughout the state and the work of other departmentscompares favorably with that of others.Let us keep shoulder to shoulder in this campaign and maintain throughout the year the highstandard reached this term.come members, through the earnest efforts of themembership committee.The Thursday evening meetings have been wellattended, and helpful, especially the one led byMiss Bessie Williamson, How to Drive the BluesAway.Every Tuesday evening, the girls meet at theAssociation House for a short period of prayer.These meetings are led by students, ladies of thefaculty and of the city. Every girl is urged to attend these meetings.The Bible class work has grown in interest, andthe girls have many pleasanthours together. Theyare planning to go to St. Marys of the Woods nextterm, and to several other interesting places. Weextend a cordial invitation to all the girls of theschool to join with one of the three classes,—TheStudy of the Old Testament, The Study of theNew, and the Bible Marksman.Miss Sankey entertained the young ladies of herBible class, Friday evening, December 12, at herhome.The missionary library has been ordered, andit is hoped that next term, the class will be thoroughly organized, for we are confident that thecourse offered will be instructive as well as interesting.A Shirt Waist party was given by the Y. W. C.A. at the Association House, November 21, 1902.Charades were played. Miss Mayo was presentand favored the girls with a very helpful and inspiring talk. Refreshments were served later inthe evening.LEAGUE.Y. W. 0. A.The Y. W. C.
