board loafer?Rest is change of activity. Come to the Y.
M. C. A. meetings one hour each week.Do you meet friends or just merely fellow
students as you pass through the halls?Think last of your grades. Its what you
know, and not what a prof, thinks you know,
that counts.Think of your own faults the first half of
the night and of the faults of others the sec¬
ond half of the night.Dont talk about your neighbors just talk about the profs. Apparent ingratitude and lack of appreciation inspires them wonderfully.Its no disgrace to slip on a banana peel. But beware! Dont slip on the same banana peel a second time.If you can say a good word to an instructor about his teaching without thinking of your grades, dont neglect to do it.Are you a chapel dreamer ? Heres the test: Can you give an accurate report of what was said in yesterdays chapel talk ?The habit of a neat appearance is a valuable by-product of education. Go to the glass now and see wdiether youre wasting the by-product.Lets leave the moping to the owl, the growl¬ ing to the bear, and the kicking to the long- eared brute with a rising propensity of the rear end.Some of the classroom desks have Mark Hopkinses behind them. Are you getting real¬ ly acquainted with their personalities and hold¬ ing down your end of the log ?The community that will employ you next year will expect your services to reach farther than the text book. Get the habit now of en¬ gaging in activities outside the classroom rou¬ tine.If you have a story that is not suited to a mixed audience, cut it out of your repertoire. You may gain a laugh from the fellows with it but you will never gain their respect,David spent much time in the mountains in meditation and in accumulating personal power. The other shepherds kept at their work below. Some students go up to the Y. M. Hall on Tuesday afternoon to meditate and get a new vision of life and its opportunities. Others keep at their work below.Then let us pray that the Y. M. speaker may get an inspiration when he holds forth to a small per cent of the 167 men of the school. Or better yet, lets inspire him by increasing the per cent. Work is better tha nfaith any day.Y. W. C. A.Variety is the spice of life, you know, and since the association believes firmly in this theory, -its meetings for the month have pre¬ sented an assortment of subjects.Early in the term a new plan was tried as an experiment to gain interest by granting everyone an opportunity to take part actively in our little service.
