ma sections of the Womans League were
hostesses for a Thanksgiving party November
twenty-first.The afternoon was spent in a very unique
manner. The guests were seated around small
tables. On each table was some sort of amuse¬
ment, such as the game of tiddely-winks, pick¬
ing up straws with little forks, making sen¬
tences out of words on small cards, shoveling
beans with toothpicks, blowing soap-bubbles
and many other things. After the games the
tables were decorated with brown and yellow
crepe paper and lighted candles, and refresh¬
ments were served.During the afternoon Miss Zoe Winniger
rendered several piano selections, and Miss
Madeline White sang two songs.The sections had as their guests the young
women in school, the faculty members and their
wives.The Athletas will hold their second initiation
of the term at the home of Miss Esther Ray, on
North Sixth Street, Saturday afternoon, Dec.
6th. The following girls will be initiated:
Bertha Bets, Teressa Lidicke, Ellen Modisett,
Helen Dean and Ruth Endicott. At the first
initiation the Misses Gay, Sabistan, Stallings,
OHaver, Kykendall, Herring and Huver were
made members of the section.Word- has been received from Miss Helen
McKeever, who has been spending the last few
months in the south, that she will be back at
the beginning of the coming winter term.Two of our old members, the Misses Ger¬
trude Lewis and Anne Di Harity, of Elwood,
Ind., visited us a few weeks ago. They came toattend the Rose-Culver game and were the
guests of Eunice McCune and Esther Ray dur¬
ing their stay in Terre Haute.Miss Janet Skeene, who has been suffering
from a broken arm, has, we are glad to say, en¬
tirely recovered and will be with us again at
the opening of the winter term.The active Gamma Gamma members were de¬
lightfully entertained by the Alumnae mem¬
bers on November 22 at the home of Miss Bessie
Streever. AVhile a delicious four course lun¬
cheon was being served the guests were enter¬
tained with a cabaret performance. The pro¬
gram was cleverly planned and well worked out
by the members of the Alumnae association.
The guests were seated at small tables decorated
in the sorority colors, crimson and white. A
number of girls from out of town returned for
the party. These were Miss Elizabeth Hamil¬
ton, of Greensburg, Miss Emma Ross, of Sey¬
mour, Mrs. Frank Howard Dcmaree, of Wil-
mette, 111., Mrs. William Knopf, of Louisville,
and Miss Edna Newton, of Clinton.The Gamma Gamma Dinner Club were
entertained November 15 by Miss Gertrude
Learns at the Herz tea room. Miss Mary Car-
rithers will be hostess for the December meet¬
ing on the thirteenth.Misses Elizabth Rice, of Waveland, Isabel
Hamilton, of Greensburg, Florence Burgess
and Rose Ferhling, of Richmond and Elizabeth
May of Washington returned to their homes for
the Thanksgiving holidays. Miss Kathryn
Rhoads was the guest of Elizabeth Rice.Mrs. A. G. Butler, of Louisville, and Mrs.
F. H. Demaree, of Wilmette, 111., will spend
the Christmas holidays in Terre Haute, the
guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B.
