S. N., had diedat the home of her parents, Rev. and Mrs. JohnW. Dipboye, of that city.Several months ago her health began to failand in April she underAvent an operation atBluffton. For a time it was thought that thishad proved successful, and she returned to El-wood where she spent the summer at homeseeming gradually to regain her strength. Hoav-everf only a few days ago her condition became suddenly worse. Peritonitis developedand despite the efforts made to save her, thebright and beautiful life came to a close.Miss Dipboye, who died at the age of tAventy-one years, had spent practically her entire lifeat Ehvood. After passing through the gradeand high schools there she came here to school.On her return to Elwood she taught at theCoon Valley school five miles south of the city.It Avas about the time of the closing of schoolthat, her health began to fail, and the operation followed in April.Miss Dipboye is Avell remembered by manyNormal students and her loss is deeply felt.Funeral services were held at the home attwo oclock on Monday, NoA^ember the ninth.atreticsYea, Normal! The interclass games have been in the lime-light for thepast few weeks and a very interesting situation has developed. In the semi-finals of theseries on Wednesday evening, Dec. 2, the Juniors and Normal Sophomores won from theCollege Sophs and Seniors. This result leftthe Normal Sophs and Juniors tied for honorsand the deciding game was played Wednesdayevening, December 9. The Juniors won by ascore of 28-23.During these class games, Coach Westphalhas been watching each player carefully, getting ready to pick his regular squad, and it hasbeen no easy task to pick the twelve best out ofperhaps tAventy-five that Avere playing in extragood form. After the work-out last Tuesdayevening, the five N. Men of last years teammet in Coach Westphals office and elected acaptain for this years team. The honor wasaccorded to IT. L. Wann.
