Take Time to Smell the Flowers

This painting depicts a water pump surrounded by various flowers, animals, and a quote. The black, traditional-styled water pump takes up most of the left side of the painting. It sits on a platform of white planks. A blue bird hangs on the handle of the pump with a reddish orange stomach and yellow eyes. On the platform with the pump, there are two pots of flowers. The flower pot sitting to the left of the base of the water pump is filled with dark pink flowers that have accents of light pink and white. The pot on the right side of the platform has purely white flowers. Next to this pot of white flowers, there is another pot of a variety of colored flowers on the ground level. In front of the water pump, one of the pink flowers has fallen and a small yellow cat plays with the fallen flower. On the ground in front of the water pump, there are three small cats playing. Two small cats, one black and a tabby, play with a tipped over gray/green pot. The third cat in white is playing with a blue pair of lace-up shoes to the right of the water pump. Behind the water pump platform, there is a rock wall that stretches the width of the painting. There is a pot of yellow flowers in a tan pot sitting on top of this wall. On the right corner of the wall, a tall pink flower (possibly hollyhocks) stand with its flowers open. Above the wall, the quote is written in white paint stating, Take Time To Smell The Flowers. Above the F of Flowers in the quote, another blue bird flies towards the flower border. Around the top of the painting, there is a border of large pink flowers with yellow center and dark green leaves. In the border on the left side of the painting, a brown bird nest with blue eggs is hanging. It is most likely the blue bird nest. The date and copyright of this painting are in the bottom left corner in white. Schrocks signature is in the bottom right corner in white. |
