East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, circa 1872

Description: Unattributed faded stereoview of houses and buildings taken from a high elevation. Handwritten on the yellow mount is East Wash. St. It was acquired with other Indianapolis stereographs. The view looks northeast across South Pennsylvania Street at the west elevation of the Indianapolis Branch of the Indiana State Bank. The light building to the left of it has Cider painted on the side. It was replaced by the Vance Block in 1875. The building seen in the distance was built in 1861 by Macy and McTaggart on the southeast corner of East Washington and South Delaware Streets.
