Photograph of artwork featuring Clowes Memorial Hall, used in the Festival Opening Program in 1963

Description: Photograph of Jock Bevans rendering of Clowes Memorial Hall, which was used in the Festival Opening Program in October 1963. The program was made for the initial performances at the venue including a formal gala opening featuring the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra; a young peoples opening featuring Captain Kangaroo; a gala popular opening featuring Bob Hope; and a gala choral opening featuring the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, and guest soloists performing Giuseppe Verdis Requiem. In the artwork, people walk along the sidewalk near the front entrance to Clowes Memorial Hall, while cars are parked along the street and a portion of Lilly Hall is visible in the background.
