Lilly Hall and Clowes Memorial Hall

Description: Likely taken from the room of the Pharmacy Building, this photograph shows cars parked on both sides of Clarendon Road along the west side of Lilly Hall, while Clowes Memorial Hall is behind it. In the background, to the left of the two buildings, is the original Lambda Chi Alpha House. When Lilly Hall opened in September 1962, the building featured a central courtyard with an outdoor stage, 40 individual practice rooms, 10 classrooms, 4 dance studios, 6 organ practice rooms, 3 group rehearsal rooms, 30 studio-offices, and a large rehearsal hall, among other features. The courtyard was eliminated when an addition was added to building, which opened in 2003. Clowes Hall opened on October 18, 1963.
