Description: A statue of Persephone stands in the center of a pool in Holcomb Gardens. Carved circa 1840 by Armand Toussaint, the statue was a gift from J. I. Holcomb in 1950. Several varieties of flowers are blooming around the pool. The text on the back of the postcard says The Holcomb Gardens - An outstanding feature of this colorful area is the beautiful statue of Persephone, Greek Goddess of the seasons, which is surrounded by beds of bright tulips. The gardens contain flowers that bloom during the entire Hoosier growing season.
