Description: |
People are gathered near the northern entrance to Atherton Union (not pictured) on Friday, September 3, 1999, in honor of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expanded bookstore and the addition of the campus Starbucks. Balloons line the sidewalks and people stand or sit near a table topped with coffee urns and decorated with plants. When the coffee shop opened, it was the first full-retail Starbucks in Indianapolis. During the grand opening, prizes were given away including CD players, t-shirts, and mountain bikes. A portion of Jordan Hall is visible in the background. |
